Spotlight on Strategies: Placemat

Full Video |02:47

Placemat is a cooperative learning strategy that sparks active engagement from students by providing both a space for individuals to record thoughts and ideas and a collaborative space where they synthesize ideas into one group summary statement. The Placemat strategy is designed to allow each student time to think. It also provides a venue for them to share their perspectives while encouraging them to listen to and appreciate the thoughts and ideas of other team members.
